I am a bit upset that there are no updates on this matter yet.
Satellite images are one of the options I looked forward to when I purchased my TRX7.
I may have made another choice if I would have known.
How soon can we expect a replacement service, are there plans in the works?

I am discussed with this situation. I spent lots of time researching units that had satellite view options. That is a must when on trails that are unknown by everyone! If this is not fixed soon, we need a full refund! The Magellan TRX7 was advertised as satellite capable. That is not the case now. For me, that is the only option i even use. I cant even use the downloaded satellite data that i paid for now because when you click the satellite button, it instantly redirects you to the web site to buy to subscription DigitalGlobe. Its not available. So your stuck. I also called and emailed magellan tech support. Still waiting on a reply. I called the GPS store, they said to get the Garmin overlander with Birds eye view subscription. Looks like that will be my next move soon.

I Also am completely dissatisfied and lost with out the satellite view. It is the number "one" reason when I was Looking to purchase a GPS With Satellite Views I chose the TRX.

It doesn't even seen like there working on finding another Company to supply the satellite ????

    I too Fell like I've been Ripped-off !!

The Camera I went so far as to drill holes and mount a bracket so that win I Open my Best-Top it could Raise above the front window to take pics or videos as I'm Recording Tracks.

it has be useless to me I don't know how to get around with out the satellite view.

I feel I should be able to get a refund of some sort????

I Don't know what to do with it what $500 "plus"  And it sits in the drawer

    WHATS GOING ON Magellan?????

    Hi All,

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

As of now, we don't have any alternative satellite provider that gives satellite images on our device. Our team is still working on this issue. We will put further notice once we found a new satellite provider.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

It has been 5 months since this Digital Globe issue was last addressed. Here it is August 2021 and I just purchased the TRX as part of the Yamaha Adventure Pro. Not until I was trying to open satellite imagery on maps was I made aware there was a discontinuance of Digital Globe Subscriptions. Give us options like open up Google Maps Layers for Satellite Imagery.  I could have saved $700 purchasing a $300 Samsung Tablet with full android functionality.

Now we know why Garmin products are the best in the market! They stand behind their products.

Still no alternative? The TR7 obviously runs on Android, let us upload our own files at least. The device even still tries to sell you the subscription.

The alternative is unfortunately to buy a Garmin overlander, and use birds eye view with base camp for satellite view. That's what I had to do after fighting with my TRX7. I had finally given up on the trx7 and let it sit for about a year or so, while I was learning the new Garmin overlander. One day I turned on the Trx7 to look at some old recorded off road routs, and for some reason it started letting me use the satellite view again. It had been locked out for months, while trying to sell me a subscription that you can't buy. Note, it only let's me see what was downloaded already before they canceled the digital globe satellite subscription. For months, that wouldn't even work even though I paid and download it. So I can still use it, but only on old trails that were saved with satellite imagery.
