My new trx 7 has 2016 build date. How do I upgrade software and operating system. 5 year old operating system is outdated

  Simply put, you don't at least on the OS.  Current software for our antiques is:

   

  software version 4.50.0017

  Software date: 2019.12.25

  To get an update go to settings, "Updates".  If there is one available, it should download it.  But as you can plainly see there has been no software or map update for several years.  Tells me that Magellan has moved on from this model.
